Annual Reviews
The educational setting named in Section I of the EHCP must hold an annual review within 12 months of the date of the current EHCP to consider any changes needed to reflect the child’s / young person’s special educational needs or provision. If your child is electively home educated, please contact the SEND Team for guidance on the annual review process. A parent, carer or educational setting can request an early annual review for the following reasons:
The child or young person’s education, health or social care needs have changed and are no longer accurately described in the EHCP; or
The education, health or social care provision in the EHCP plan is no longer meeting the child or young person’s needs.
The child or young person has been excluded from school or is considered to be a risk of exclusion.
Any change to the funding level attached to the EHCP, requests for personal budgets or a change to the educational setting named in Section I of the EHCP must be requested through an annual review.
