Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum provides a wide range of FREE training to empower are members who are parents and carers of children with special educational needs/and or disabilties. The Forum is FREE to join please complete their membership form here
Below is the training available to members during the Summer of SEND.
6th July - 9.30am-3pm IPSEA Level 1 Training for Parent Carers
Friday 9th July - 6-8pm - Meet The Leaders Tim Long Manager for school support services
Tim Long, the principal educational psychologist and manager of school support services, will be joining us this week.
Please take this opportunity to come along and share your experience of school support services, including educational psychology, visual and hearing impairment, ASD, Early years and the SEND team. Would you like to know about a referral to services, what is available locally for children with SEND, SEN-support advice, ask a question around your child needs?
Monday 12th July 10am - Speech and Language Team Selective Mutism
We will have a representative from the SALT team coming to discuss Selective Mutism and their pathway. They will be able to answer questions from parent carers.
Wednesday 14th July 10am-12pm- Weekly Get Together with Chris Morris and Sorcha O'Loughlin
On the 14th July from 10am-12pm the theme will be Bedford Borough’s Local Offer and summer holiday activities.
Chris Morris (Manager for SEND Programme) and Sorcha O’loughlin, Local Offer Officer, will be coming along to tell you about the local offer, the holiday activities available this summer and what is available if you need support over the summer.
So please come and share your experience around accessing the Local Offer, what you would like to see on the Local Offer, and any ideas of family activities you may like to see in Bedford over the summer holidays.
Monday 19th July 10am-12pm - Meet the Leaders Jo Drew (Designated Clinical Officer SEND BLMK Clinical Commissioning Group) and Beccy White (Head of Commissioning and Transformation, Children, Young People & Maternity Services)
Please use this opportunity to come along and share your experience of children’s Health services in Bedford Borough. Jo and Beccy will give updates on health services and talk about resources and updates regarding Services that families access from Speech, language and communication needs, Mental health, paediatrians, 0 to 19 team and complex nursing team.
