Summer of SEND 2021 - Parent/Carer Resources
As part of our Summer of SEND we are releasing new resources but we also wanted to highlight other specific resources that are already available for parent/carers. Below is just a selection of resources but most if not all of these documents can also be found in our documents page on the Local Offer which can be accessed by clicking here .
Active Adults 6 week try or have a go at something new
We offer a range of sporting activities for adults. This enables you to increase your fitness and enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
Active Adults
Active Adults is a sports programme aimed at over 35 year olds. It is ideal if you want to try a particular activity or have a go at something new. It is also for you if you tried a sport before and want to return to it in a relaxed, informal environment with other like-minded people.
Download our course summary booklet (PDF) for more information about the courses.
All sessions are held at local venues situated within the Borough. The sessions are run for adults, by experienced and qualified coaches. All required equipment will be provided.
If you like the sport and want to continue with it after the course has finished, we will give you information to help you to do so.
Courses may be cancelled if numbers are low. You will be notified a minimum of seven days before the start date and offered an alternative or a full refund.
Booking open for new courses week beginning 7 June 2021
A six week block of Active Adults courses returns next month to get you back active and doing the activities we have all missed over the last year.
We hope to bring you a full programme in September, but for now bookings for the outdoor courses are now open.
Book and pay for courses online
Due to COVID-19 we are unable to take cash or cheque for any courses this time.

In Autumn 2020, Bedford Borough launched it's dedicated Neurodevelopmental Disorder Disagnostic (NDD) Pathway. New EHC Assessment Request Form
Bedford Borough launched it's new Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment Form (EHCNAF) in Easter 2021. This new EHCNAF had been coproduced over the past year to ensure that it was more holistic in capturing the needs of a young person. With new sections on health and social care needs relating to SEND it has already proved successful in better identifying all needs of a young person for whom an EHC assessment is being requested.
You can view the new EHCNAF by clicking here
To further support practitioners completing this new EHCNAF, we have also created a helpful prompt sheet to give advice and guidance on how to complete each section so that it truly reflects the child's needs. You can view this new EHCNAF prompt sheer by clicking here
