Following feedback that parents/carers wanted to have one place which listed all the training available to them, we are pleased to launch our new monthly training page on the Local Offer.

What is the online workshop about?
The developing good bedtime routines workshop is a two hour stand alone workshop where you will meet other parents experiencing similar issues. This workshop gives you some useful tips to develop a positive bedtime routine and teach your child to fall sleep in their own bed and stay in their bed until morning time. These workshops will be relaxed and informal; you can contribute as much or as little as you want. We will watch some video clips of common parenting issues, have a chat about these, share some tips and ideas and you choose the strategies you feel with work with your family.

Stepping Stones Triple P has been developed for parents of children with a developmental disability or additional need. Because it’s based on Triple P’s proven parenting strategies, it gives you ways to deal with the kinds of childhood behaviour problems and issues that can make family life stressful.
Stepping Stones Triple P has been evaluated with real families and has been shown to work with children with intellectual and physical disabilities who have disruptive behaviour.
Who is this for?
• Parents of children with a disability (3years to 12years)
Stepping Stones Triple P can help you
• manage problem behaviour and developmental issues common in children
with disabilities
• encourage behaviour you like
• cope with stress
• develop a close relationship with your child
• teach your child new skills

Wednesday 12:00pm to 1:30pm 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th June, 6th and 13th July 2022 - Fear-Less Triple P supports parents to help children/Young People manage their anxiety more effectively.
Fear-Less Triple P is a cognitive-behavioural parenting intervention that supports parents to help children manage their anxiety more effectively.
The program encourages parents to generalize strategies to all family members, not just the child of concern.
Fear-Less Triple P aims to help parents to set a good example of coping with anxiety, coach their children to become more emotionally resilient, and develop a toolbox of strategies and choose the most effective to respond to their child’s anxiety.
The Fear-Less Triple P program can either be completed in six group sessions.
Suited to parents or caregivers of children aged from 6 to 18 years who have low to moderate levels of anxiety that cause significant distress or impact on their everyday functioning.

This workshop gives some practical suggestions to help you teach your teenager how to manage their emotions & how to manage any problems. We will watch some video clips of common parenting issues. Have a chat about these, share some tips and ideas and you will choose the strategies you feel will work for your family.

Worry Management Workshop

We all worry from time to time, but sometimes our worrying can become a little out of control. This workshop is an introduction at how we can identify these worries and how we can manage them better using CBT techniques.

BLMK SEND eLearning for Parents and Practitioners
Bedford Borough Council and Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum have worked with partners from across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes to coproduce a set of 3 eLearning modules where you can learn more about SEND and the Childrens and Families Act 2014.
You can access the training through clicking here . You will need to register as a new user to be able to access the training. For many of the registration questions parents can simply answer N/A.

The Council for Disabiled Children is delighted to announce the launch of their SEND Basic Awareness e-learning course. This freely available, self-guided e-learningwill improve people knowledge and understanding of:
- the Children and Families Act,
- the SEND Code of Practice,
- the Local Offer,
- the graduated approach
