Educational Psychology Assessments - what do they do? How are they delivered? When are they undertaken?

Aneta, from Bedford's Educational Psychology team, will help us learn all about the tests and how they help us understand how best to help a child or young person, including learning difficulties and what they actually are.

The Graduated Response/SEND Support
Thursday 12th May - 7pm

Neurodiversity Networks will be joining us to run a workshop around the Graduated Response/SEND Support.

Where a pupil is identified of having SEND, schools should take action to remove barriers to learning and put special provisions in place.

This is done through the 'assess, plan, do' review process, also known as the graduated approach.
Come along to our session to hear what the 'assess, plan, do' review process involves and how this can support your child in this setting.

How to successfully apply for an Education and Health Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) to determine the need for an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP)

Have you heard the following??
· Your child is too clever
· Your child won’t get one
· We need to evidence three terms of support
· We already give your child all the support they will get
· What benefit do you think an EHCP will give?
The only legal test for determining if a child requires an EHCNA is that the child has or may have SEN.
We will talk you through how the process works and what is needed to submit a parental request to your Local Authority for a needs assessment and take the fear and uncertainty out of the process for you.
