Spectrum Community Arts video workshops with movement, music, games and transport theme

Join Spectrum Community Arts online at The Higgins and travel through a series of pre-recorded video workshops with movement, music, games and transport themed fun! These exciting workshops will be accessible and engaging for all!  

At the end, join in our Zoom Celebration that builds on the video workshops (but can be accessed without having engaged with them). 

The videos will available to you to watch at your leisure on the Higgins website

Week 1 Sensory Movement  video released - Monday 24th July 

This sensory movement video is aimed at people of any age who love to dance and use fun, sensory based props! Some of the types of transport we will be dancing like airplanes and cars. Come along and use noisy shakers, colourful scarves, and other props to explore fun ways of transport!

Week 2 Sensory Adventure video released - Monday 2nd August  

Calling sensory seekers under 18! Help Frankie follow the map to find the hidden treasure! This adventure will stimulate your senses as we journey up the river using props, music and movement! ALL ABOARD!

Week 3 Learn a dance routine video released Monday 9th August 

On your marks, get set, GO! Join Jade and learn a fun, accessible dance routine! Aimed at those with disabilities and additional needs - get your engines revving as we dance down the highway together!


Week 4 Arts & Crafts video released Monday 16th August

Up, up and away! Join Lila and make your own hot air balloon in this fun crafts session inspired by Colonel Frederick Burnaby’s air adventures. (Adult supervision required)

Week 5 Sensory Music video released Monday 23rd August

Whoo Whoo – All Aboard! Get ready to sing, play and move in this sensory music session. We’ll be climbing aboard a stream train and flying high in a hot air balloon. Bring an instrument or even a tub of pasta and let’s shake, rattle and roll together!

This hour-long virtual performing arts workshop is aimed at under 18s with disabilities and additional needs.
