Hangar View

Hangar View is the older of the two day Centres which is situated in the rural village of Wilstead near Bedford, and comprises of nearly 1.5 acres of land which gives a spacious environment in a peaceful setting.

We support services users from 18 years upwards with learning disabilities and whom may also have additional care needs. Individuals access our services via transitions services when leaving school, through social services direct commissioning and also through self /family referral and direct payments /individual budgets.

The services we provide looks to deliver social activities, Education via the ASDAN personal progress program allowing young people to continue their education for up to an additional 3 years after leaving school, work based training and supported employment as well allowing community participation.

Being Situated in Wilstead it enables us to have excellent transport links which supports us to offer a number of activities whilst attending Hangar View. This includes Swimming (Oasis Swimming Pool, Bedford), Cinema trips, (Bedford, Luton or Milton Keynes), Golf (John Whites in Rushden), Snooker (local snooker club in Bedford), Bowling (Dunstable), as well as trips to Northampton, St. Neots, Huntingdon and Peterborough. We also arrange day trips which are optional to participate in to places like Woburn Safari Park, Whipsnade Zoo, the coast and many more.

Hangar View prides itself on being part of the community, from the use of the local amenities, to hosting a Monday Coffee morning at the local Church where everyone is welcome. 

We provide high staffing ratios along with a safe and practical environment conducive to supporting our service users to achieve their long term goals and aspirations by having a care plan/ education learning programme package which caters to their individual needs. 

At Hangar View we ensure that we deliver a holisitic service to each indiviudal by working as part of a multi disaplinary team along with other professionals and familaies to ensure that everyone who attends are at the forefront of our service, which enables it be a service user led provision. 

We offer a full and varied timetable of activities to our service users covering such things as independent living skills, arts and crafts, media, sports and leisure activities, cookery, music and drama, animal welfare, gardening and community participation.

Although Day Service provisions are not required to be CQC regualted we as a company ensure that we provide a service that runs in conjuction with CQC standards as good practise.
