Youth Inspired – Pathways
Who are we?
We are an independent provider of learning opportunities for young people with Severe Learning Disabilities
What do we do?
Pathways is an inspiring and fun programme designed to give support to young people with learning disabilities. You can attend for up to four days a week usually following a three year course, It is highly structured and takes place in a warm and welcoming centre full of life and with a real buzz about it. Courses are designed for young people to develop their social and emotional wellbeing, independence within the home and community and communication skills as well as supporting them to learn academically. Resources are differentiated for each learner. Specialist software is provided for those who need it and young people are taught strategies to help them to learn and progress despite their difficulties. Pathways is all about progression and by the end of their time with us, learners will have made great strides towards independence. Many will have achieved qualifications and all will have learned to value their own abilities and strengths. Learners will have the opportunity to move closer to independent living, further education, possibility of work or other opportunities of interest to them.
