Sight Concern’s Bedfordshire Virtual Social Groups
Information about Sight Concern’s Virtual Social Groups
We began setting up the Virtual Social Groups at the beginning of 2021 to help people stay connected in ‘these unprecedented times’.
The social groups are accessed via a programme called Zoom using your telephone (landline), mobile phone, i-phone, tablet, i-pad, laptop or PC, which means anyone can join in. And don’t worry if you’re not an I.T guru or think you’re too old as ‘Tech-buddies’ are on hand to help with the technology.
The majority of people who signed up to the scheme have successfully logged on to at least one meeting. Each week is different. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, sometimes we learn, sometimes we have in depth conversations. But above all we have each other to talk to.
These are not computer lessons, but a way of helping you feel less isolated, being able to chat with like-minded people, meeting new people, sharing thoughts and ideas and yes, if you have an I.T query we will try to help you. Groups are held on a Wednesday and Thursday. You can pop in to any one or all. You can stay for 10 minutes or an hour. You can join in with the chat or just sit and listen.
If you are interested in joining in, and/or receiving support from one of our Tech Buddies, please contact us on 01234 311555 or email:office@sightconcern.org.uk
