Family Fund - provider of grants for disabled children or seriously ill children
Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families on low incomes raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people. Last year, we provided 89,101 grants and services worth over £33 million to families across the UK.
We provide grants for essential items such as kitchen appliances, sensory toys, family breaks, bedding, tablets/computers, furniture and clothing. It can be a struggle financially, emotionally and physically for families raising a disabled or seriously ill child, and these grants help break down many of the barriers families face, improving their quality of life and easing the additional daily pressures.
Apply for a grant
If you’re raising a disabled or seriously child, we might be able to help. There are three things to consider when applying to Family Fund:
- Are your family eligible? We help families living in the UK on low incomes. Check our eligibility criteria to find out if this could be you.
- Is your child eligible? We use our own criteria to assess your child or young person’s additional support needs. Look at our child and young person eligibility criteria to see if we might be able to help.
- Get an application form. If you've read the information and think you would be eligible, you can download an application form or we can send one to you. If you’ve had help from us before, you can apply online.

Or you can ask for one to be sent to you.
Need help filling out our application form? Take a look at our application guidance document if you have any questions about our application form.
We accept one application per household. To apply on behalf of more than one child, please complete a full application form for one child and then a child details form for each additional child you are applying for.
Please note: If you are a family living in Wales, our criteria are a little bit different. Please visit our Wales application pages to apply.

if you are re-applying, from time to time we review your continued eligibility for a grant. We will let you know if we need to review your application and if we need to see any more information.

Application forms and additional forms to download
As well as our Application Form, you can download other material to help with your application. You may find our Application Guidance booklet helpful when filling out the form. If you're applying for more than one child, you will need to download a Child Details form and fill that in as well. If you'd like to provide more details about yourself, you can download an Ethnic Monitoring form, but please note that this is voluntary. You should also read our Term and Conditions before applying.
We also provide a range of programmes and services, as well as information and advice to families that apply to us, in order to help them access more of the support that may be of help to them in raising their child or young person.
