IST Crisis Team

The Trust operates a 24 hour urgent mental health assessment hub in Bedford

The Crisis Resolution / Home Treatment (CRHT) teams work with a group of patients, who, without this support, would need to be admitted to hospital, or who cannot be discharged from hospital without intensive support. The service enables patients who are in crisis, and not able to function at their normal level, to be supported in their own homes.

A trained mental health professional will be able to offer assessment and support 24/7

The hubs provide direct telephone or walk-in support for anyone who feels they cannot cope and should be used instead of A&E for mental health crisis help.

NHS 111 mental health crisis support is also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 

How to refer

Self-referrals to this service are accepted and the team can be contacted by calling 01234 315691. 
Referrals are also accepted from one of the following: GP, A&E Department, Community mental health teams or community nurse.
