Oral Health Improvement - run by Bedfordshire Community Health Services Coronavirus update

In order to deliver the best possible patient care during the Coronavirus outbreak, we will be re-organising aspects of children's services that are provided and delivered by Bedfordshire Community Health Services. Please see the details on our public website ( for which services will be continuing, what changes will be made, and what will be suspended until further notice.

The Oral Health Improvement team encourages and supports people in the local community to develop tooth friendly practices. This is by delivering training sessions, supporting national campaigns and running the My Smile award programme.

The team provide this free support across the Bedford area and Central Bedfordshire, aiming to make mouths healthy!

Oral health training is available to a wide range of people and groups who wish to support and enable good oral health. Some examples of who we train…

  • Health visitors, school nurses, nursery nurses and 0-19 teams
  • Teachers and school staff teams
  • Looked After Children teams
  • Early Years Practitioners
  • Care home staff

The training is free and can be tailored to the setting and recipients receiving it. To enquire or make a booking, please contact us.
