SWITCH
Who are we?
Switch is a free, week-long project for young people aged 16-18 that that are disengaged from education and training, who are struggling to reintegrate due to difficulties with mental health and wellbeing.
What do we do?
Our fully trained staff support the young people that attend to engage with a variety of activities, from psychoeducation around mental health, mindfulness activities, an outdoor activity day, motivational speakers, to personality quiz and career discussions. This includes visits from local training and education providers. The week concludes with a celebration event on the last day to acknowledge their achievements and certificates are presented. Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the week and transport can also be arranged in order to remove as many barriers as possible that may prevent young people from attending. The project is designed to not only have fun and encourage them to engage with peers and professionals, it is also to build confidence within the young people, to give them a safe space to explore their career ideas and to challenge themselves by recognising and concurring fears.
