Living It Up Performing Arts Centre

A new alternative day centre that started in September 2016. The centre, in Bedford, is currently open every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The centre runs from 9:30am – 3:30pm.

Monday:

Music, Songwriting and Filming

Tuesday:

Morning – Drama

Afternoon – Dance

Wednesday:

All Day – Art, DJing and Podcasting

Thursday:

Morning – Music

Afternoon – Art, DJing and Podcasting

We provide performing arts sessions chosen by the people who attend and led by experts in that area. People are able to increase confidence and learn and showcase new skills. Since opening we have worked on many exciting projects:

Drama and dance - we have trained teachers who run these sessions are working on our first theatre show in November. This has been written and produced by the people who attend.

Music - in October the Living It Up band is performing its first live gig. We have also written and recorded 2 original songs. Videos can be found on our YouTube channel.

DJing and podcasting - We put out regular podcasts which have been written and presented by the people who attend and in a few weeks we will be putting out a live radio show every Wednesday afternoon. We also teach people how to DJ. Some of the guys have DJ’d at parties in the community.

Art - this is a new project where people will be given the opportunity to learn different art techniques. We will be looking at selling and exhibiting items we make in the future.
