CHUMS Coronavirus update


CHUMS is still delivering all services, working remotely and conducting appointments, engagements and calls online or by telephone.

All voicemails are still being picked up by our admin team, but please be aware this is not constantly monitored. All calls that are picked up will be answered in due course.

PLEASE NOTE: CHUMS is not an urgent response service, therefore, if you feel that a child or young person is at immediate risk to themselves or others, please contact your GP, A&E depart or call NHS 111- Mental Health Crisis Line (Weekdays 5am-11pm – Weekends 7am-11pm).

Mental health and emotional well-being service for children and young people. CHUMS provides a range of specialist services to support children in difficult circumstances, these include one to one counselling and group support for children and young people in  Bedford Borough with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Anyone can refer a child to the service, they also accept self-referrals.

CHUMS offers free confidential support and advicde for children and young people up to 25 years old.  

On the third Tuesday of every month CHUMS offer a drop in service at the Centre (details below) where they can support with a range of topics including: 

  • Anxiety
  • Self-Esteem 
  • Exam Stress
  • Bullying
  • Issues with friends 
  • Issues with families 
  • Issues with a loved one
