Special Educational Needs

At Bunyan Preschool, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every child with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is empowered to achieve their full potential. Our commitment to the principle of 'Every Child Matters' is at the heart of our approach.

Our practitioners are highly attentive to identifying children with special educational needs at an early stage. We believe that early intervention is crucial, and thus, we develop personalised early intervention plans to provide effective help and support to each child. By addressing their needs promptly, we enable them to progress faster and more effectively.

Recognising that children learn at different rates and through various styles, our practitioners carefully tailor the learning environment, activities, and materials to suit each child's unique preferences and strengths. This process, known as 'differentiating the curriculum,' ensures that every child receives the support they require to thrive.

We ensure that children with Special Educational Needs have access to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum through a step-by-step or 'graduated approach.' This approach allows us to cater to their specific needs and foster their development in a manner that aligns with their individual abilities.

At Bunyan Preschool, we prioritize the well-being and development of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). To ensure comprehensive support, we have a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO) who collaborates closely with our experienced members of staff and parents.Bottom of Form

Qualifications

Our team has members with qualifications in early years ranging from Level 2 to Level 5.
