Bedford Wheelchair Racing

Bedford Wheelchair Racing, a section of Bedford and County Athletic Club, was set up 3 years ago with one participant, and now has 6 regular participants, mostly young people in their teens.  Since its inception it has gone from strength to strength with the racers taking part in a range of track and road events. 

For example two members regularly take part in the Bedford Park run on Saturday mornings, all enter various track meetings and three 16 year olds were in this year's London Marathon mini marathon bringing credit to the club.  The club has two qualified coaches who take sessions on Sunday mornings, 10.30 am until 12 noon, at the Bedford International Athletic Stadium.  For newcomers to the sport all equipment is supplied.
