National Insurance Number

Your National Insurance number is important and is unique to you. It is a code, made up of letters and numbers and never changes. You need your National Insurance number to make sure that any tax you pay or National Insurance contributions you make are properly recorded against your name.

You can find your National Insurance number: on your payslip / on your P60 / on letters about your tax, pension or benefits / in the National Insurance section of your personal tax account. If you do not have a National Insurance number, we will support you to get one.
