Invitation for Bedford Borough sports clubs and organisations (large or small) who feel they can widen their offer to provide more sporting opportunities for SEND young people to bid for one-off funding.

Bedford Borough Council has received government funding to improve access to sporting activities for children and young people (CYP) with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

The Council are inviting sports clubs and organisations (large or small) who feel they can widen their offer to provide more sporting opportunities for SEND young people within Bedford Borough  to bid for one-off funding.

Funding must be used to increase accessibility to sporting opportunities for CYP with SEND who are aged 0-25 and are a resident of Bedford Borough. The activity needs to take place within the boundaries of Bedford Borough.  

How do organisations apply?

All applications for funding must be completed on the Bid Application Form (Appendix A). Please see the download box on the right hand side of the page. 

Completed applications should be sent to info@bbpcf.org.uk by 12pm on 12^th December 2022.

Bedford Borough Council Disability Sport: accessible pools questionnaire

The Council has allocated £50,000 to spend on capital projects to improve the accessibility of swimming pools within Bedford Borough.

To enable the Council to improve access to swimming pools we need to understand what the current situation is and if there are any barriers to accessibility.  Please complete the questionnaire by clicking here by Friday 2nd December 2022.  The information gathered will enable the Council to commission equipment to be used in local swimming pools.
